I do what @Sweetbay magnolia does.  Dry with a bit of canned to mix in.  Lab owner.  LM

Sweet, @Lilysmom !  I have a "sheprador" - black lab/German shepherd mix.  Fantastic dog.

How's the new pup, @SeaMaiden  - or did you?  Maybe I haven't kept up.

I noticed that my beagle prefers just a little water on her dry food. I put a spoonful of canned on top and she gobbles it up. On occasion, when I run out of canned dog food, a spritz of that canned spray cheese works too.

I feed only dry Kibble. My dogs do not get wet kibble or canned dog food ever.. it causes tooth decay, especially in small dogs.

Sometimes, I top off the food with fresh steamed green beans.

NOT TRUE.....does chewing on pretzels keep the taryer off your teeth.

@CrazyDaisy Is correct. If kibble kept teeth clean so many kibble fed dogs wouldn’t need teeth cleanings.

@Carmie

Kingston loves green beans too, as well as raw carrots!

Re: Question for those who feed dry dog kibble to their dog.

I feed my Eddy dry kibble.  However, always add "people food" to it; I cook something we both can eat, i.e., eliminationg onions, garlic (except when we have salads, I imbibe!). He loves veggies, rice, potatoes, etc. and eats three meals daily, but I make them small:  he's developed this thing where he has to eat next to me instead of at his diner tray - probably to insure we're eating the same things????

Eddy has developed excellent muscle tone (he will always remain a little handicapped) and I believe it's from adding fruits and vegetables to his diet along with a high-end kibble.  Ironically, I buy grain-free, but he loves bread - like the other morning we had cheesy scrambled eggs and he came over and let me know he also wanted a toast - so he does get those grains!

I don't follow all rules.  Imho, I try to usually put 'good' foods into my body and  do the same for Eddy. Can't imagine eating the same dry kibble everydayWoman Wink.
