Hysterical... but no, not for the dog!  I'm DONE snipping our Golden's nails.  She hates it soooooo much.  I pay $ and let the groomer do it.

That was so funny , sounded like a human having hair removal , every time they pulled a strip off.

Drama Queen?  A groomer tried to cut my mini Aussie's nails and he twisted and bucked so hard that he disassembled the groomer's table.  I have to take him to the vet where they have 3 or 4 techs to hold him.

My groomer uses a Dremel on my golden. I've never seen it done but her nails are so smooth when she gets done. I think the Dremel is less traumatic.

@SilleeMee    I think you have to start with the Dremel when they're puppies.  If I approached my dogs with one, they'd go through the ceiling.  The breeder of my Jett (avatar) conditioned her puppies with one when they were tiny and he never blinked an eye at it. 

I've conditioned my Aussie to having his paws handled and he doesn't mind it now but when I pick up a tool he still goes berserk.

I have seen this before.  The "scream" and the pitch is what's so unique.  I know none of us want to see any animal hurt.  He's just afraid, bless that little heart!

If a nail is cut too close, you know immediately because they bleed.  

She may not want to put her baby to sleep for the procedure.  The flip side is likely the nails will curl under which is MUCH worse.

Have you ever heard pigs when they have to undergo any procedure?  Their scream is their only defense and they can scream bloody murder.  That what this pug reminds me of.

One year I went to the Denver Stock Show and there were some cute little piglets in a pen. I reached in to pick one up and the little thing put out a hair-curling scream! I couldn't believe the little thing had such a huge set of lungs. Scared me to death...you'd think I had killed the poor thing from the sound it made.
