Once again, I really hope you reconsider your choice. While I realize you may dislike/are horrified have you thought about this cat ridding your yard of undesirable vermin also?
I.E., when we began restricting our cats' access to the outdoors, we had an epidemic of moles in our yard.
It's their nature to hunt other creatures, both good and undesirable.

Cats also kill prey and leave it for their owners as a sign of love and appreciation. He could be doing this as a sign of of affection for you.
My indoor/outdoor occasionally leaves me a bird, rat or mouse at the door to let me know thanks. {I rescued her after her owners abandoned her}
Dont give up in him so soon its a natural instinct.
