Prayers and good thoughts coming your way for both you and Riley.

Thank you wonderful posters for all your prayers and well wishes. Got home late last night , I bad a late appt ,they had 2 emergencies as well. Riley has a tooth that has come loose and the chin bump caused it to become inflamed. Tomorrow we will see the oral surgeon then they will remove it  and check his other teeth as well. These small little dogs have teeth problems  it seems. Now if only my stomach would settle down! Feeling terrible,  Last night my precious husband was talking to Riley while I was out of the room, I snuck in to hear what the was saying. He clearly feels the same way about Riley as I. He was sitting on the couch next to him and had a statue of the pope he was  touching Riley with. He said papa please fix Riley he is  so special, I know God created him for us to love. Please bless his life.... I started to cry . what a special life we share. Again we feel so blessed by all of  you. I will post tomorrow afternoon our drs plan .our appt is 11:20 .  Thank you dear hearts,Maryanne

Maryanne, I'm sorry about Riley's tooth but glad they found out what was wrong and can fix it.  I'll be interested to hear what the oral surgeon says.  I hope they can take care of it soon.

Keeper, I was glad to get the update on Riley.  I never knew they had oral surgeons for dogs.  Having had and loved a very special little Maltese named J'mi for 13 beautiful years, I understand about the teeth issues, but my regular vet was able to handle his dental cleanings and extractions.  Also, God Bless you and your husband for all the attention and care you provide to this precious pup.  I especially love the story of your husband seeking a papal blessing for Riley.  If anyone has an "in" with the man upstairs, it is our most humble Pope Francis.  Please continue to keep us abreast of Riley's follow-up, and give him some extra special loving tonight.

Dknj, thank you so very much. This is a vet group with specialties which is very nice! I am glad you feel as we do this Pope is papa to all living things..I believe he personifies God's love here on earth... My husband  is such a special man . I have a very serious illness often in the middle of the night I find him kneeling beside me   praying for a healing. I have been blessed  with kindness    beyond measure , including the lovely posters like you....Maryanne      I will let you know how everything goes tomorrow afternoon , I won't be happy until I know he is  comfortable again!

@keeper of the koi, what a special story you related about your DH and Riley, it really touched my heart, and speaks volumes about the quality of man you call husband. You must feel so blessed. Holding you all in prayers for a successful visit to the specialist tomorrow.

Prayers to get your Riley's vet's hands and talents tomorrow that he heal your dear boy and send him on the road to swift recovery!  I'm so glad they found the cause of the problem and there is a solution at hand.

I teared up when I read about your husband and you hearing him with Riley.  You're both outstanding pet parents and have made everything humanly possible available to Riley -- including your steadfast love -- to keep his health strong
