@Mistic wrote:MORE GOOD THOUGHTS "PLEASE!"
Not doing good. Headed to pick him up to transfer to Specalist Hospital in Leesburg, VA. Last hope ~ Nearest Specialist that has Platelets for transfusion. I have to give Phoenix that Chance!
I'm so sad for you @Mistic. I'll keep the good thoughts and prayers coming for you and Phoenix. I know how hard this must be for you.

Oh @Mistic ... I am so sorry to hear about your ordeal~!
Since you are in the area ... below is where I took mine for a diagnosis (three local vets could not diagnose...perhaps they could provide treatment if you are not happy with the Leesburg facility):
VCA North Rockville Animal Hospital - Specialists)
My 9-year-old cocker spaniel had fainting spells.... this was the only vet facility that diagnosed her. This was in 2007 when the tainted dog food from China occurred, and I believe that is why her kidneys failed....she had Hemolytic Anemia (a form of cancer). They were going to give her transfusions, but she passed that day.
I pray your precious Phoenix recovers soon. Hugs~!

@MisticI'm so sorry that Phoenix Rising is sick. Heartfelt prayers and comforting thoughts are going out to you and your buddy. having to leave them when they are ill tugs on the heart but he is where he needs to be for his chance to get better. You are doing all you can for him and he knows you love him dearly.

I don't know where to start... Everything is going wrong. Heart rate up. Labs are off the chart, and in the wrong directions. Ultrasound showed two spots, not sure if it is the C word or not till more testing in the am. The only thing that they are sure of is that "something" set all this in motion, and it hit him like a speeding train. How does a Dog go from one day to being fine, and the next the train hits at full speed? I've had a dog with cancer, and it comes slowly, not all this at once like this, and this bad. Specialist Vet said it is possible that the vaccines turned his system into overdrive, and set all of this in motion, but there is no test to prove it. I feel so guilty. I contemplated only getting the Rabies shot, as he is in his own yard only, doesn't go anywhere, no dog parks, etc. BUT we have a neighbor with a ton of Ferel cats that they let run wild, and they do get into our fenced yard. I was afraid that he could catch something from them, so I said yes to the other vaccines. He is almost finished with his red blood cell transfusion, and will get platelets next thing tonight. Then it is a kind of wait till final word on the two spots. I'm not looking for a pity party for one, but my heart is broken. I know he is a Dog, not a person, but he has given me so much comfort since I lost my Dad in February, and lost my Son Andrews God-Father last month, who was like the Brother that I never had. Thank you for listening. I just had to let it out and write it down. TY

He's a dog, true, but he's your baby--and when he hurts, you hurt.
I've had pets the last several years suddenly develop bad symptoms and ultimately chronic or terminal illnesses, and the process to figure it out, even by the best specialists, takes some doing. My vet has always said the toughest part about being a vet is that his patients can't talk to him. By the way, he consults with Leesburg often and they have some of the best and brightest in our region.
You are being courageous and loving and strong and clear-headed for your pup. He needs a champion and you're the one....and you're doing a great job.
Stay strong, Momma!

@MisticA hug to you. May Phoenix respond to the treatments and Rally to come home.
Not knowing and not being able to be with your boy IS stressful. You are ready to fight for him but must let others wage this battle. Sending out well wishes to you and Phoenix Rising.

Thank you for your kind and caring words.
I apologize for my rant last night. Everyone has problems, issues, loss of a loved one... certainly not just me. It feels like the world needs to stop, I need to catch my breath, but we all know that it doesn't stop for anyone, it just keeps on going. Today is a new day, and I will make it through, no matter what.
I tried late last night to post a hundred Hearts for all of you here. It took awhile to count out 100 Hearts, but I did it, and then it wouldn't let me post them. .............

Precious Mistic, please know that Phoenix is God's creation. God has heard the prayers sent up for him and knows all. Keep praying, you are doing everything that is humanly possible to get him well. God knows that too. I wish that I could be there to comfort you. Please feel my comforting hugs and emotional support for you and Phoenix, with loving and hopeful thoughts, SC
