I just got a puppy Pomeranian and am going to get pet insurance. I got quotes but was wondering if anyone could recommend one.

Nationwide. We've had it for years. @chiclet

I have Trupanion. It is the same one my vet uses for his animals.

The best approach can be to stop by your vet's office and ask the office staff which insurance companies they think are good and would recommend. Get all the names and compare coverages and prices.
That's what worked for me, and I was very happy with my choice at the time. I got Embrace insurance.

@chiclet, @Tinkrbl44 , and @Marp ... My DH and I are thinking about getting a dog when we retire. What does your pet insurance cover?

@Boehm Collector, I don't recall the exact amount but it is around $40-45 a month. I chose a $500 deductible with a 10% copay. The policy covers illness and accident with usual exclusion for preexisting conditions.
Sunny is a 3 year old Finnish Spitz.

What I liked about Embrace at that time was the different options. You can get a "bare bones" policy or even one that covers the yearly visits 100%.
Depends on your lifestyle and budget, of course. (Example: is this dog going to live in a more urban area and be a house dog, or do you go camping where they might encounter a snake bite or other problems out in nature.)
When I asked the office staff about their experience with different pet insurance options, they agreed that Embrace was paying claims faster than most. Since they have to deal with the claims -- and the problems with paying some claims -- I felt their comments were very valuable.
Another thing .... if you have a few choices you're considering, google that company's RATINGS ... and see what other policyholders have to say. HTH
