Paging NickNack

[ Edited ]

@Nicknack  Don't you live near Knoxville?  Sister and I were wondering if they ever caught the tiger that was spotted running loose in that area.

@Kachina624   Yes, I actually live in Knoxville.  Three or four people reported seeing the tiger.  The first was an off duty police officer.  Then someone walking his dog saw it, and finally a woman called saying she saw it in her back yard.  When there were no more sightings after that they took the trap down and quit looking.  They will start looking again if there's another sighting.

There is speculation that it could have been a bobcat, but no one knows.  I doubt it was a bobcat, because they weigh under 20 lbs., but no one really knows.  The Knoxville Zoo and a Tiger Rescue said their tigers are all accounted for.

A few years ago a local woman here picked up an injured "cat" she found lying in the middle of the road and put it in the back of her SUV. Her young son was sitting in the seat just in front of the injured cat. She took the cat to the nearest vet and asked them if they could take a look. She had it wrapped in a blanket and what the vet found was a bobcat. It was hissing and growling at everyone. The vet secured the cat and  immediately contacted the Dept of Fish & Game to report the incident. The woman thought it was a house cat and was not cited for her action but was told that she and her son could have been attacked. They told her she was lucky. The bobcat suffered a severe back injury, had paralyzed back legs and had to be put down.

@NickNack    Thanks for the reply.  We thought it strange there had been no updates.

@SilleeMee   That's a scary story.  Pound for pound, bobcats are probably one of the most vicious animals alive.  We have a lot of them around Albuquerque, even in the city.  People and their pets are advised to give them a wide berth.

@SilleeMee  wow!  That's an incredible story.  They could have really been hurt if the bobcat hadn't been injured so badly.
