The Today Show is having a segment on Puppy Plastic Surgery...I just can't imagine that.
The DVR is set to see what this is about.

A friend bought a rescue dog that came from a puppy mill. That poor dog had a destroyed back end and very hanging ni@pples.He paid for plastic surgery to correct all of those problems for the dog.

@dex. That dear little rescue was blessed to be found by your friend. Under those circumstances I understand the need for furbaby plastic surgery. Not everyone would have the funds to pay for it. Blessings to him. He will receive so much love from his little one in return.

"Plastic surgery" for animals for a medically necessary/comfort for the animal reason (such as one the poster above mentioned) I can agree with.
But when it comes to docking tails, cropping ears, declawing, etc., because a human thinks it 'looks better' or is more 'convenient', is equal to maiming in my own, very personal opinion.

I second your personal opinion. My daughter who's a hygienist in a cosmetic dental practice wanted to have braces put on her beagle because he has an under bite. I hit the roof. I had braces as an adult and hurt like h-ll!! Would never put a dog through that...know they do it on show dogs, but a pet?
After a stern lecture and directing her to some "cruelty to dogs" youtube videos, she gave up the idea.

I think they called it that as an atention grabber. I did not see the segment but I doubt they would bring up disfiguring proceedures on a morning magazine show. To deep a subject for just a segment. There are MANY corrective surgeries that are done to correct the extremes Humans have bred for. pugs and Frenchies and the like get proceedures to open the nasal passages and trim the soft palate so they can breath better. Eyelid surgery on lids that flop outwards or roll in and scratch the eye. And that's just the first things that spring to mind. Theres all kinds of corrective proceedures that are all about the wellbeing of the animal and not just for asthetics.
