I've never lost a pet, fortunately, and they've all had microchips.  I have a fenced yard, and my dog isn't out there by herself very often or for very long.  My cat is an indoor only cat.

 

I worry about my cat getting out more than my dog.  I think people are more likely to see a cat and not realize that they are lost.  Either of my pets would be appealing for someone to keep if they were so inclined though.

“Non-techie Shanus” here. Wouldn’t it make sense for all the pets’ chip info to be stored in the cloud...not w/ individual companies? It would be saved like our computer/cell info and photos to be accessed at any time by anyone.
