and she is a pill. My insomnia was in overdrive last night and at 2 this morning I hear, Petunia!!, stop it, from DD's room.
A second later the hall light is one, Petunia is running down the stairs at break neck speed, hit the landing sliding into the stone wall, jumps up, down the rest of the steps and proceeds to do a wild kitty run into the kitchen.
DD is on the stairs muttering. I asked, what did she do now. Answer, I was asleep and she woke me up by gnawing on my nose. Then she gave my face a tongue bath. As she is telling me this, P went tearing back up the stairs past her just a meowing and chirping.
My bleary eyed DD had to go to work, Petunia took a nap.

One more night like that .....and I'd be shopping for a kitty cage.

@fthunt When we took her in at 1.8 lbs. with a injury on her stomach we had to keep her "quiet" for 2 weeks. We had her in a very lage pen. Yeah, quiet, injury and all she climbed the cage and kept us up. Now at nearly a year old it would be ugly if she were confined.

A slab of wood and some hardware will just be a challenge to Miss Persistence.
I was wondering whether her mad dash into the kitchen could signify hunger. Or she was just doing a turnaround to get to DD now that she'd gotten her up. Petunia is an extremely smart cat. She strategizes.

@Kachina624 Of course we do. However, we don't shut them fully because both cats go in and out during the night.
Closing them means a yapping cat scratching at the door.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 You should keep a pet diary and write a bookon "the perils of Petunia." For me your posts are funny but maybe you need a cat intervention as in Jackson Galaxy from the show My cat from hell of Animal planet.

@noodleann Food was not her goal. It was I'm up and you should be too, and since you are up.............let's play.
Her other favorite thing is to lay down in front of you when you are headed to the bathroom. She will not move. Period. She plays speed bump.

@Boomernichols When I think of the cat from h*ll I think of a mean and I'll scratch your eyes out type of cat.
P isn't mean she justs to have fun. We only mind at 2 in the morning. Luckily it's not every night.

Or a closed door means scratched-up carpeting or floor. I do keep doors to unused rooms closed and the cats don't bother them. But close the door to a room I'm in and it's a different story.
Thank goodness, though, my cats are quiet at night.
