Re: Our Sweet Trixie Has Gone To The Bridge

I am so very sorry that your beloved Trixie has crossed the Rainbow Bridge.  You gave her a wonderful and loving life.

I do understand the hole in your heart right now.  But, with time, you will feel better and fill that hole with warm memories.  Someday, I believe, you will be together again.

Years ago we also adopted a kitty who “wasn’t pretty.”  She was found near a dumpster in the middle of a New England winter.  She was old, very thin, with no teeth.  Snowball was such a loving kitty, who was our adored baby while she was with us.  When Snowbie crossed the Bridge, what saved me was the thought we will someday be together again.

I am so sorry for your loss.  It is never easy.  Still griving my Jasmine that we had to say goodbye to in February.  Blless you for taking her in and loving her.  All of mine have been rescues.  They are special and it is an honor to be able to take them in and love them. Thoughts and prayers coming your way.

Our 17(ish) rescue, Trixie, joined my beautiful Darcy at the Bridge just after midnight.  She was diagnosed with kidney cancer a little over a month ago, which seemed to start as a cough.  We had her for 10 years, and it would be hard to find a sweeter cat that had spent the first third of her life on the streets.  We got her for free from the rescue because she was not a pretty cat and no one really wanted her.   Their loss.  It is now our loss.

I'm so sorry your precious Trixie has physically left but her sweet spirit and tender love will always be with you. I'm so glad that you chose her. It deeply pains me when some cats and dogs are overlooked because they are not deemed "pretty" or "beautiful." I had a short-haired " plain" brown tabby who was smart and affectionate with a beautiful spirit. She was very special. She crossed the Bridge many years ago but memories of her make me smile. I'll be thinking of you.

My deepest condolences. I'm sure Trixie knew how much you loved her and would thank you for giving her such a good home.

I am so sorry for your loss, @SXMGirl .  This is the hard part of loving a pet.  As difficut as it is, most of us would never not have a pet because of it.  I am sure that Trixie was thankful for your love and kindness.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  I've been a cat mom for decades and it is always heartbreaking when we lose one.  You gave her a loving home for many years and I hope that will give you some comfort at this time.  Take care.  Heart

Re: Our Sweet Trixie Has Gone To The Bridge

i got a boston from a shelter .  he had been overlooked because he looked like a pitbull and no one wanted him.  he was on deathrow when i got him.  he was my treasure.  i had to have him put to sleep because he got colon cancer        in aug of 2017 but i still miss him.  he was a joy.

i donot understand why people have to have a pet based on looks.  the humane society here had apoodle that was turned over to them because it did not match the color of their new rug.
