I just had my kitten spayed at 5 months.My vet said they like to avoid hormone development to spare them cancers in their later life. 

 

I took my feral female to a "discount" vet several years ago. I recently found out he just tied her tubes instead of a full spaying. She exhibits some of the same behavior if she was in heat. The biggest annoyance is the male tomcats come from miles to try to seduce her. She looks at me like WTH?  I will get her properly spayed.I don't want to take her back to that quack.
