@MalteseMomma   Thank you for asking about Ava.  I quit giving her the Cerenia on Sunday to see if she was still throwing up, and she wasn't.  She's still on the metronidazole for diarrhea because I think she's supposed to stay on the whole course.

She has her appointment tomorrow at the Specialty Center and will probably have an endoscopy done tomorrow, too, if the Internal Medicine Vet thinks it's necessary.  They told me to fast her before bringing her in.  I am so worried about her undergoing anesthesia, but I want a definitive diagnosis.

I tried one day to feed her the prescription I/D dry food, and she threw up a little bit of it (even on the Cerenia).  I went back to the canned.

She isn't staying in the living room with me all the time although there's a comfortable bed in here for her.  Right now she's under my bed.  I don't think she feels completely fine yet.

Don't worry about posting about Cozi on my thread.  I'm just so sorry you lost him.

Thank you @KingstonsMom .  I appreciate the prayers.  Our appointment isn't until 12:15 tomorrow.  I wish it was in the morning.  I'm already nervous about it.

Thank you @MalteseMomma  and @Sammycat1 .  I had a cat die under anesthesia one time, so it really scares me.  It's risky for Frenchies to undergo anesthesia because of their flat faces, so that makes it doubly scary to me.  I just can't wait for it to be over.

Also, the first Vet told me that she would have to spend the night at the Specialty Center, which I don't understand.  She's so scared and nervous I think it would be better for her to come home.  I'm going to talk to the Vet about it, and maybe I could at least pick her up tomorrow night.

Make sure you mention your fears of anesthesia  to the vet ,he will take extra care.A vet once explained to me their are different kinds of stuff to use if an animal has problems with it.

My prayers are with you and Ava  {{{{hugs}}}}

@MalteseMomma   I've got a long list of things to discuss with the Vet, and that's one of them.  They would use extra care anyway though.  My Vet always does, and I know the Specialty Center would, too.  I think when my Cat died that the Vet I was going to at that time used the wrong anesthesia.

I understand your fears. The stay-over may be precautionary.

Will they be taking tissue samples for biopsy?  This is the only definitive way to diagnose inflammatory bowel syndrome during endoscopy.  Or is it a visual inspection only? If they're doing a biopsy, that would be a reason to stay over, too.

They are more than well aware of the anesthesia risks of this type of dog--at a specialty vet center, it's not their first rodeo, which should be of some comfort to you, but of course reiterate your concerns.

Ava is tougher than you think--she's got you in her corner, and that's no small thing.

Hang in there!
