@Winkk   Congratulations on this new addition!  I always wait until I get to know the pup before naming it.  Usually the name hits me within two or three days.  One boy, it took a few weeks.  I was embarrassed to not have a name for him, but nothing was working until the right one came to me in an instant when he did something.  Worth the wait!

I agree, get to know her better and an appropriate name will come to you.

Wait untill you get to know her..

When I got Cozi at first I named him Comet ,because he ran around and around  fast as lightening.

But as we got to know each other and snuggled down together at night, he made me feel cozy, (I was grieving the loss of my  Barkley  (a corgi)   at that time and he made me feel good.....

So Cozi became his name and everyone including his vet had to make a change........lol but as the yrs roll by he has lived up to his name and has become even more cozy to me  <3

Re: New Grandpuppy Needs a Name

I had a beagle many years ago and her name was Biscuit.  I just thought she looked like a cute little biscuit.  You have to use a name that you are comfortable with and one that comes out of your mouth easily when you look at her.

My folks had a beagle named Barney, but I guess that doesn't help.  Ha!

Is the dog for you or a family member? I agree with maybe picking some names and seeing which one fits.

Pick something you do not mind saying a lot and you want it to  sound specific so it is clea rto the dog.

My rescue came to me as Lucy and I loved the name Lucy and thought it was a good name for her. She did not respond to it and I went through several other names. When I got to Greta she immediately responded and chose her own name. So now she is Greta.

Do you know what she is other than beagle?

Re: New Grandpuppy Needs a Name

I like human names for pets. My females, over the years, have been: Guinevere, Charlie, Liesel, Genevieve, Ilsa, and Gretchen.  I also like the name that several others here mentioned, Maisie.
