Re: Need suggestions regarding cutting my dog's nails

Constance,

This task, along with teeth brushing, are 2 of the worse chores of dog ownership. De-pooping the yard is up there too.  Some dogs are more sensitive than others pertaining to the handling of their paws.  I find that if I use a high quality clipper and speak high pitched, excited baby talk to them during the session with lots of praise for holding still I feel better (not sure about the dog). If there is a nick use stypic  (?sp) powder sold at pet stores to control bleeding.

If you are still not comfortable just continue to reserve and keep clipping at the vets office.
