@Kachina624.    Yes snow is a good insulator and the husky has a double coat.   They are easy dogs to groom and care for until once a year when he would shed.    There was heavy daily brushing for a week or 2 late each year.   We could predict our winters by how early he shed and how thick his new coat was.  The boys joked and said they could make a large thick dog mattress from the hair collected in 1 season.
