We went through this with a very young kitty. To this day, we have no idea why.
My daughter noticed she seemed to have lost weight. She was correct, and she was jaundiced and her liver enzymes were very high. We don't know why she stopped eating, but that just fuels the liver failure.
We syringe fed her with that vet prescribed a/d food and they put her on antibiotics. Took about 10 days of this, but she improved and started eating on her own again. She fully recovered.
Hope your kitty is doing better.

Want to give you an update on Sooty. She started to have seizures. We took her to the vet. They told us that she was getting worse and she probably wouldn’t make it 2 weeks. They said the best thing that we could do for her is to let her go. After the seizures she wasn’t herself at all. So sooty past away on March 15. It was hard talking about it that’s why it took me so long to update. I want to thank all of you.
