He's almost 11 years old and neutered. He doesn't know he's neutered and still will try and have his way with his sister Maisie who is spayed. What yowling went on here this morning until I could rescue her. This is very funny, but he usually has his way with an old housecoat I've named Mabel and he yowls at the top of his lungs while doing his thing with it. Anyone else have a male cat that does this sort of thing? I think they must have missed something during his surgery at the shelter. BTW, he never started doing this until Maisie came to live here 10 years ago.

Sometimes it's more an Alpha thing trying to show the other one who's in charge. I have a male cat that has done this with both a female I had and now with a male I have.

Our male cat does this as well but with a stuffed toy cat he managed to steal from my daughter's room.  I think they missed something when he was neutered.

@catter70   Maybe he needs a re-do on his neuter?

My youngest cat, out of the  cats I have, recently started his antics at night when the lights go out.  All my cats are either nuetered or spayed.. He is six and always zeros on my large gentle giant who does not like it in the least. I now usually keep them in separate rooms at night.  Not funny for my large lion, but he always looks around in the room to see if the fiesty one is around.  If he is, my big boy will turn around and leave. The vet suggests I give the young one some form of exercise for ten minutues (like catch the laser) right before bedtime so he will be tired and go right to sleep.

I had a neutered male Persian--dumb as a box of rocks.

He would grab an Afghan in his mouth, and mush his paws into it, and rock back n forth. After a few minutes, he got the most bewildered expression like, "I think something is supposed to happen now...." but it never did..

Goofiest cat ever!
