I give my puppy a teaspoon of the organic extra virgin cold pressed coconut oil that I use. He loves it and it works.

Our vet recommended a few drops of mineral oil on our miniature poodles' food in the morning. Our minpoo is 12-years old and a rescue from the Humane Society who suffered constipation among other things when we first got her. She's "puppy size" at less than 8 lbs.

I do this once a day for my dog.   My dog tends to get diarrhea and it helps with that too.  She likes it plain.  I don't have to stir anything into it to make her eat it.
