Re: My Dusty has crossed the rainbow bridge :(

So very sorry for your loss.  The senior rescues are truely blessed to have such a kind person give them a forever home even if it not for as long as you would like.  Bless You.

Re: My Dusty has crossed the rainbow bridge :(

I am so sorry for your losses. How wonderful that you adopted an older dog. That is a great gift, especially when you know going into it that your time together may be short. We adopted our beagle when she was three, still young, but there are times when I miss seeing her as a puppy. Blessings to you for loving your fur babies.

I'm so sorry @Buck-i-Nana... So very sorry. I can only tell you what a beautiful thing it is that you do by offering these older animals a loving home at the time in their lives when it probably matters most.

Thank you, Buck-i-Nana, for rescuing and loving Dusty and the other senior dogs.   It takes a very dedicated and special person to take on these wonderful animals, who desperately need someone to care for them in their final years.   I so applaud you for being this person and only wish you could have had more time with Dusty.  Please take time now to heal yourself and renew your resolve, then hopefully continue on to helping another elderly animal in need.

After hearing the story about your father and his love for animals, it sounds like you are a chip off the old block.  God bless you and your dad.

God Bless, you.  You are in my heart and in my prayers.  Dusty was very lucky to have you and though he's in heaven now, he'll always be by your side as you have a very special place in his heart:  love never dies...Heart

You are an angel as are the ones you care for.  You are beyond special.  Thank you for doing what you do.  I wish I had been given the gift you have because this world needs more people like you in it.  Prayers and hugs to you and your family. I'll ask my two to say hello and run with him. Heart

Re: My Dusty has crossed the rainbow bridge :(

Bless you, Nan, for giving Dusty such a loving end of life. It takes a special person, indeed, to rescue a senior pet knowing the heartache soon to follow. I also believe that our pets wait for us beyond the bridge all the while enjoying their new bodies  jumping, playing, snuggling and eating endless treats!

Godspeed Dusty, you are loved.

Nan, may your heart be comforted today to know we understand and empathize in your grief.

I am so sorry for your loss @Buck-i-Nana.  It is very rewarding to adopt a senior, but it also breaks your heart when they die so soon.  I've adopted several seniors but don't feel I could do it again.  Dusty was lucky to have been adopted into your family.  You will be in my thoughts.

@Buck-i-Nana I am so sorry you lost Dusty.
Nothing I can say can take away the pain and loss but know that what you gave Dusty was the ultimate gift, the gift of a happy, safe, peaceful life in his golden years. But please be strong and continue to adopt seniors. I know that it is hard but they NEED you. They need you to give them that happy, safe, peaceful life, even if it is only for a short time. That is the ultimate gift that all animals, including humans, only hope we get in our last years of our life.
I let my sweet babies know so they can greet Dusty at the bridge with wagging tails, playful barks, licks, and soft nuzzles.
