I am so sorry for your loss.  It sounds as if that little guy had so much personality and brought so much joy into your life. Twenty-five years is a long time, but my feeling is no matter how many years.......it's just never long enough.

We lost our cockateil a few years ago - he flew away - it was a terrible accident and we spent weeks trying to find him and track him down - there were lots of sightings but, alas, we never did find him.   It was a horrible time for my hubs and I.

I said "never again" but we now have a new little guy.  He is SO different - he's very sweet but not the same as our original love.

Cockateils are just wonderful - as someone said - not just a bird but a whole little companion with a very unique personality.

So, sorry about your loss - I am crying just thinking of you and of our dear little lost Bunky.

@SeaMaiden, I am so sorry for your loss.  My cat, Lucy, was almost 26 when she died, so I understand the heartbreak.  I still miss her, and think that I see her, so do not be surprised when you see your beloved cockatiel.  It will take a long time to get over this, so do not be afraid to share your grief with those close to you (or on this board).  My condolences.
