My baby, Chancie, is 12 1/2 and developed pneumonia a few weeks ago. He finished his antibiotics on Friday. He is staying with my brother right now, because I am out of town. My brother said he did not eat today but is drinking water.
I am calling his vet in the AM for a re-check. He is not doing well.
I got this little guy when he was around 2 years old. Prior to that he went from Shelter to adoption, to shelter x 4.
The people I got him from were going to surrender him that day to the shelter. He did some naughty things, but I am experienced with Shelties and understand their behaviors.
I have had him all of these years and I love him. I feel so sorry for him that he is this ill. I know nothing lives forever but this illness came on quickly.
Please pray for my boy. I would like to get home to see him but that is not until Friday.
My friend reminded me that I am not responsible for what happened to Chancie before I got him. Thank you

@conlt I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through with Chancie. You will be in my prayers. I'm going through a similar situation with my 15 year old Daisy, I can empathize with you. I love her dearly.

@conlt - I will say a prayer for your little boy Chancie. I know it's hard being away from him right now, but at least he is with your brother. It sounds like you got his pneumonia treated right away.
DH is a veterinarian. He's up late tonight, so I just told him about Chancie. He said it was good you got him in right away so they could start the antibiotics, but he also said it would be a good idea for your brother to take him in if he can, just to make sure nothing else is going on.
You took Chancie in and gave him the love he deserved. He knows that. And if you had not taken him in, he would not have the love he does!
Please let us know how he's doing.

@conlt So sorry that Chancie is not feeling well and that circumstances are keeping you from him. 😞 I will send up some prayers for him and you.
I hate to hear when puppies are ill.
You are a special Dog Mommy 🥰.
I have a 16 1/2 year old Norwich terrier that I worry constantly about. He usually behaves like a pup but the last couple of weeks his behavior is changing. I'm hoping it's from the summer heat.
Keep us posted please. We care. ♥️

@conlt - Prayers for Chancie and you. Please try to remember you've given him years and years of love and care. You're doing everything you can for him right now.
At least he's with your brother and he's drinking water. That's at least a good sign that he's staying hydrated. His appetite may return, as he starts to feel better.
I hope your brother will be able to take him to the vet, as has been suggested, just so that you have some peace of mind that there's nothing else going on.

We are assured that the Lord cares about ALL his creatures. Right now, so many of us are bringing your darling Chancie to his attention, and asking for his speedy intervention and help with Chancie's recovery. I am also praying for you to find rest with the knowledge that you have our support and compassion. Blessings to all.

I am praying for Chancie. It is not easy for our doggies or for us when our dogs get older and experience illness. I am sure Chancie will feel much better as soon as you return home to him. I pray that he starts to show signs of recovery. Would Chancie respond to your voice on the phone if you called your brother and asked him to hold the phone up to Chancie's ear so you could talk to Chancie and let him know you are coming home to him soon and ask him to please get well?
