She started limping end of June, Thursday before the holiday..  July 4th, Banfield diagnosed her with a ligament problem and given meds.  They tested her for Lyme disease just to be safe and said x-rays would be no good.  First week meds worked:  she was no longer limping.  After a week, limping came back and second meds did not help.  Got an appointment at another place with a very highly recommended vet and she was checked out.  Dr, believed it was a ligament/tendon problem and agreed x-rays would be good.  Yesterday, she was x-rayed and was told everything was looking good, also heart and chest were good - she got a very good bill of health; however, he sends his x-rays out to a specialist just to make sure since he's not a radiologist.  He was going to call today after results were confirmed and refer me to an accupuncturist.  So, I happly answered the phone when he called and gave me the worst diagnosis possible:  she's got a tumor in her leg, which apparently developed when she first started limping.  In dogs, it mastasticizes to their lungs.  She's got a tiny tumor in her lung.  He told me had she been x-rayed even last week, neither tumor would have shown.  Only treatments:  amputate leg (which isn't recommended for someone her size; or, go to an oncologist.  Tufts University Veternnary Hospital was recommended.  Called Tufts and Jade's Dr. is to fax med rec to them for their review.  If accepted into their program she will receive chemo shots for her lung and radiation for her front left leg..  She's ten years old (will be eleven Sept 19th) so  I'm praying their accept her as a patient.  Awful to say, but right now I'm kinda questionning the "Man Upstairs" - it seems every five years or so something terrible happens to me and enough is enough, ya know!  It's just me and her - we only have each other - and, I would greatly appreciate any and all prayers if you're so inclined.  Thank you.

Had a scare with my puppy just last week, thankfully the test came back benign.  Positive thoughts for you and family during this difficult time.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

I am so sorry for all that you and your baby are going through.  It is terribly hard on all involved, physically and very emotionally taxing for you.

Count your blessings that you have good people to turn to and the resources to do everything you can.  I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I'm truly sorry that this is happening to you.  Like many others, I've also "been there" (with our Golden Retriever).  In our case, it was long ago, in another country and there just weren't any "options".  I know exactly how devastating this feels for you right now.  I still find it hard to remember my own loss.

I pray that you'll have some good news so that you and your furbaby can enjoy many more years together.  Whatever happens, she'll know how loved she is and you must remember that.  Live in the moment, as much as you can.

My prayers are with you and your beloved pet. I've nursed several ill pets. Keep in mind that your furbaby is so fortunate to have you, a caring friend who will make certain that there will be lots of love and the best treatment possible.

I'm so sorry to hear this bad news. She's lucky to have you; it sounds like you're doing everything possible for her. Hang in there and, yes, your fur-baby will be in my prayers.

I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LITTLE ONE.  WE WENT THROUGH THIS TYPE OF ORDEAL A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO.  ABOVE ALL, JUST REMEMBER TO BE KIND TO YOUR BABY AND DO WHAT IS BEST FOR THEM AND YOU.

LOVE AND PRAYERS TO BOTH OF YOU.

I'm so sorry to hear that your beloved pup has cancer.  She also has a fantastic dog mom in you -- you are swinging into action and trying to get her into Tufts, one of the best in the country.  She could not be in better hands -- theirs OR yours!  Prayers for you both and for grace to guide the talented hands of her medical team.

Please keep us posted on how you are both doing as you begin this journey together.
