Do you all love the Pedigree commercial of the little girl who is in the hospital and asks "more treatment?" When the dog enters the room and she breaks into the sweetest smile I just nearly bawl. This is one of my favorite and I never tire of seeing the love!
Dogs truly evoke warm and fuzzy feelings we can never deny, support animals for sure.

Yes .. I love that one .. I also love the one where the stuffed
animal jumps off the 18 wheel truck in a blizzard .. the
little girl picks it up out of the snow for a hug ...I tear up
everytime .....

I'll never forget the last time I was in the hospital, how it raised my spirits when two women brought in two dogs that happened to be Rottweilers. Made my day.

Yes! 🥰...I always have to stop and watch
that little girl in the hospital when she sees
that (St Bernard I think) and his cute face ...I love her
reaction , it just melts me 🤗.

When my father was in the hospital years ago, every Monday a man would bring in 2 Bernese Mountain dogs. Our dog, Maggie, was a Bernese. My father would always remind my husband and I to visit around 1:00 that day so we could see the "Maggie dogs" as he called them. Both are long gone now, but I will always remember this time.

I love that commercial. It reminds me of the value of such visits and the stories my deceased DH used to tell me when he was working inpatient hospice. Animals were always welcome. Dogs, cats, a ferret, and even a pig.
But, beginning one shift he entered a patient's room to find two German Shepherds lying in bed with his patient. He was a little intimidated that they might not receive him well, but they were quiet, watchful and respectful of those entering the room for bedside care. It was as if they knew what was happening. He said it was a beautiful sight to see them lying in wait, fully dedicated to their best friend. He felt their loyalty outweighed that of some of the human visitors he had witnessed.
Honestly, if I was in hospice, I think I'd prefer seeing my dog, or having him with me, than just about anything, or anyone else, now that my DH is gone.

Wow, this brought tears to my eyes. Our pets are an important part of our family and yes, I believe they know when we're suffering or sick. I know many hospice places allow pets to be brought in when a family member is getting ready to pass.
