Re: Let’s share! names you call your pets?

One of our two outside Irish Setters was named Clancy.  Because of the charming strut he had, we called him Clancer Dancer.

They had gorgeous coats and in winter they used their temperature-controlled dog houses which DH built inside our garden shed.  The first night they got to use their side by side inside houses, DH sneaked up with a flashlight and found both of them together inside one house.  They looked out at him as if to say " Who's the new neighbor ? "

( One dog was close to 12 and the other was a 2-year old puppy. )

Re: Let’s share! names you call your pets?

I had two boy cats who were said to be brothers from the same litter. They were about a year old when I adopted both from a shelter. I think they were just a very bonded pair, not brothers. While I only went to the shelter to adopt one cat, I was very taken by one of the two. The shelter asked me to take them both because they were so great together, so I did. I kept their names given at the shelter: Cupid & Arrow.

Cupid was very bold, but often into stuff that made trouble for me, and him.  He was occasionally called Stupid Cupid or more often Cupie Dupie.

Arrow was smaller in size and as wary as Cupid was bold.  Cupid sometimes picked on little Arrow and he'd scamper to me. So I came to call him Arrow Sparrow, because he was likely to take flight when startled or scared.

They both lived long and prospered, or I should say flourished, in my care. I still miss them, but I would find pet care somewhat troublesome now, so I live with no creatures.

Here they are, Cupid on the right:

We usually use their "real" names: Wilma and Ginger.

Sometimes we used "Willie" or "Silly Willie" for Wilma.
She passed away in 2016.

Sometimes we use "Ginjee" for Ginger. We adopted her from the local humane society in 2017.

We have called them both "Sweetie" and "Baby Girl".

When I adopted my kitty from the rescue she already had a name: Luna.  I decided to keep it.  Little did I know that it was probably her nickname and that her real name was probably Lunatic!!!!  I rarely call her by her name Luna, usually Sweets, Sweetie-pie, Loony, or any other silly name that comes to me at the moment.

@gizmogal @Bless you for taking both. Upid and Gizmo! They are adorable. I'm sure you gave them a great life. I adopted 2 kitties from the same litter who were very attached to each other and I'm so glad I did! Cheers!

Re: Let’s share! names you call your pets?

We love our dogs, we are also in between having a new one to love right now. Lost our most rect standard poodle last December.

In order from most recent - Wallce

Clementine our Oorang Airedale (the giant ones, she was beautiful)

Oswald our Airedale of AKC size (smaller than Clem)

Henry, a pound hound

Sampson, our very first dog, a pound hound

Loved them all, still do, still miss them like crazy

Cannot wait to get another to fill the emptiness of ALL of  our hounders!
