Love cats / hate lifting ,buying and cleaning cat litter . I wasn't going to have another one after saying goodbye to my last dear boy . But a sweet little fur girl that had been abandoned came to sleep on my porch in late summer and I brought her in to the warmth and food . I am so glad I did.
But--the litter. I use an ordinary tote purchased at Lowes for under $20. I think $stores have them also. Use a craft knife and cut a hole big enough for your cat to enter. My totes are ( she likes 2 available ) 19"x31" with a snap on lid. Just put an ordinary cat box inside and there is room for the scoop also. Litter mats could be put at the hole's entrance. I have had cats all of my life and nothing has worked better in my experience.
All cat lovers should check out the subject on Pinterest for terrific ideas .
Also Wayfair and I am sure other places have some beautiful furniture like pieces for the same purpose of the the totes. But of course much more $ss.
