I've wondered about this a long time: do our pets understand what kissing them means? that it's an expression of love and affection? What does it mean when they lick us...the same thing, an expression of affection and security?

@GoneButNotForgotten

I know that when I ask my granddog to give me a kiss, he gives me a smakaroo on the mouth (and gets a treat!)

He also kisses his doggie friend!!!!

I am sure that animals of all kinds definitely know love in any form.

I am constantly kissing my dogs, so I hope they know it is love. My Husky mix will lick me right on my lips to wake me up every morning. She only licks me on my mouth first thing in the morning, then moves to my legs later on. It makes me laugh, which is a good way to start the day.
