@Scooby Doo Blessings to you for adopting an abused dog that few would consider adopting. You have a huge heart!

Thank God for human angels like you Ms Scooby. Your new baby has some serious issues that I do not even want to imagine as to why she has those issues, what happened in her lifetime.
But you've saved her. You and she will be blessed in the animal kingdom.

All you had to do was mention "debarked" and I knew she'd found the right place to be!
Hope she becomes the co-queen (with your other doggy) of your heart!

@Scooby Doo I was kidding in my post above about the names.

DD has had up to five mini poms over the past 10 or so years. Last one she adopted was also older - solid brown, toothless like yours. But she did still have her voice. I know one of the breeders she encountered said she always cut the vocal chords of their "breeding stock" to keep their kennel quieter. A horrible thing to do IMHO. I didn't hear it all, but the daughter read her the riot act and subsequently reported her to the right people.
Anyway Tater (the last adoptee) was angelic and lived two happy, peaceful, well fed and well loved years with her new Mom. She was probably about 12 or 14 when she passed per the vet. Daugter loved her soooo much.
You did good!!!!

Congratulations. I'm sure you all will enjoy the new family member.
What does she eat? Just wanted to add that Honest Kitchen makes a dehydrated food which is mixed with water, making a smooth food with nothing to crunch. It's human grade ingredients. You can order samples on their website. (I have no connection with the company, just was wondering what your new one can eat with no teeth, besides canned.)
I hope the dogs have a blast together. How cute they must be.

That is so great that you adopted her. I'm sure the two of them will be BFFs. I think their names are really cute.
Good luck.

God bless you! My shepherd/schnauzer (16 1/2) died at the end of June. I was worried about my 14 year old Pharaoh hound losing her best friend so I adopted a greyhound. They are best of friends now. She will never replace my Scully, but she's a sweet dog. Kathie Lee Gifford talked about throwing your stone - my stone throw is to take care of wonderful animals that just need a good home.

Thanks for the info about Honest Kitchen. I just ordered some samples.
I was told that she has an allergy to corn so that's another issue. I fed her a Little Cesars packet and she gobbled it right up. Then I gave her a chicken treat that I broke into tiny pieces and she ate that too.
It's so sad that she has no teeth because her tongue hangs out of her mouth sometimes.
She has kennel cough and doesn't feel well, also due to her teeth extractions, vaccinations, and having her hind quarters shaved down to the skin. But she'll feel like a new dog in a week or two.

Hey! Wait a minute! Didn't you say they were the same age and look exactly alike? "They could be related"? "Lexi and Lacy"?
You KNOW where I'm going with this, right?
