My little Kiku, all less-than-five-pounds of her, is shedding her old summer coat and getting ready to put on some lovely fall "garments" (a fresh coat).
I gave her a bath yesterday to help the process along and could not believe the clumps of fur just coming off her tiny self.
Have a lot of you noticed more shedding lately?

My dog owning neighbors have their dogs shaved every summer. No complaints about shedding from them either.
My indoor cat shed all year round. That being said, every spring right before Easter I take him to PetSmart for his yearly lions cut.
No shedding during spring & summer. No more throwing up hairballs or anything else for that matter.

My Misty is just finishing the big shed. Her fur is not very long but she had a huge undercoat. Piper, on the other hand, has long silky fur (mini Aussie) and he's just starting . Neither of them is crazy about being brushed.

Yes, I noticed the same thing. Gave my little one a bath Saturday and got out a lot of fur. Then I ran a lint roller over him (which he loves) several times and picked-up more.

I've noticed that my cat, Henry, is shedding a lot more lately.

@NickNack. Does Frankie shed much?

@Kachina624 Frankie does shed, but since her hair is short it isn't in clumps around the house like Henry's is. Because it's so short it's hard to comb or brush it, too. I usually just use my hands and rub her and put the loose hair in a paper towel. Her shedding isn't anything like my long haired dogs in the past have been though.

@NickNack. Those gloves with the rubber nubs would probably do a good job on her. I've used one on my dogs and it gets loose top hairs but does nothing for the umdercoat.

@Kachina624 I have some of those that I ordered from QVC. They don't work that well on Frankie. I also have another type of glove that I ordered from Ebay that doesn't work very well either. I've also tried Zoom Grooms. My hands seem to do the best job.

For Meadow, she was shedding really bad in June and July. I was
brushing her several times a week. I hated to wear dark clothes,
because it looked like I was rolling around with her.
