I am so sorry for your loss.  Without trying to make this thread all about me, I will only say that I have been were you are multiple times, the last was April 29, due to cancer.  I pray that some day your tears will be accompanied with a little smile from happy memories of your special friend.

@wismiss I am so sorry that you had to make this heart wrenching decision for the love of your cat.   Animals live a large life and that is why they live a shorter life.   You were a loving pet parent until the end and your memories will warm your heart as you heal!

@wismiss  I know how you feel and my heart breaks for you. We lost our darling Kitty Kat last month to a squamous cell cancer in her mouth. We were with her until the end, talking quietly to her and gently stroking her. I know she felt the love, but it's so hard to let go.

My daughter says we can never replace her, but we are looking to get two cats this weekend to share our home and love with them. Thankfully, they will outlive me and give comfort to my daughter.

@wismiss    I am very sorry for the loss of your beautiful Katie.  Please take comfort that she knew love and kindness from you.  I truly believe that God gave all animals souls, and that all animals go to heaven. Your sweet Katie is at Rainbow Bridge playing with all her animal friends.  We will all see our precious pets again in heaven.  Sending you hugs my friend.
