My little dog has a bunch of those squeeky toys.  My husband wasn't watching where he was going the other day, and stepped on an orange ball, that lets out this screaming squeek.  Of course he did the jump and fast foot around trying to keep from restepping on the thing, thinking it was the dog.  I've done that too and we had one big laugh over it.  So far we've never stepped on a dog, but that is so funny once we realize that it's a toy not a dog.

I'm sure others of you have done that too!

Re: I just have to share this!!

DH and I are constantly stepping on squeaky mice and then hopping around to catch our balance.

Smiley Happy What kind of dog, @qualitygal?

Unfortunately, I've stepped on the dog already! (Yorkie)

But good thing he's quick & agile, because I could have stepped on him a lot!

My precious Abby treats her squeeky toys like real puppies.  She coos to them and moves them around.  When I accidentally step on and squeak one, she goes into full mother alert.....Heart

You learn to shuffle-step around the house when you have a small dog or cat, especially if they're very young or very old.

It usually just takes one instance of a stepped-on paw and they learn to get out of your way.
