We currently have 2 cats and, honestly, I have no idea what to do if DH & I go at the same time. We have NO friends or relatives who like cats at all. Hopefully, we will outlive them...they are 8 and 10 years old.
It's something to think about, for sure!

Yep, considered that too.
I support Best Friends in Utah and they do not take animals from individual owners.
However, they were not really a good choice for me since I'm in Maryland.
If I'm going to that route, I'll have to find something nearby.
It's a thought.

Yes, check your area. We have a cat and a dog sanctuary in our area.

I have it in my Will that my pets will go to my sister. If she isn't alive they will go to my niece. If neither of those things will work (I've discussed it with both of them of course), I have a specific dog rescue where my dog would go. I got my cat last year and haven't put in a special provision for him yet if it wouldn't work with my sister or niece. I would hate to see him go to a rescue. He would be so scared.
I do think it's very important to plan for our pets.
My boys would be so scared especially Grayson with in another environment.

Our trust states that our dog goes to my sister. If she has passed, then the dog goes to another sibling. We also have money set aside for the sibling to use for expenses for the dog.

I have a trust, everything I own is in the trust and my son gets it all....he loves kitties and has rescues, he will take and love any kitty that I might have at my demise!

My 75 pound dog passed away about 4 months ago. I would love to have another dog but feel it is irresponsible at my age to get one.

My plans are not to have pets in my late 60's .... now both of my dogs are age 11 and I am enjoying every moment with them. I don't want any of my pets to "wonder where I am." Hopefully I won't go first, before my pups ... but my parents would certainly take them.
