@Carmie wrote:I send my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels to the groomer every four months. They get a bath monthly at home, but during the summertime, they swim in a lake and after a week or so, they don't smell so great. So, I give them a bath more often in the summertime.
My black/tan Cavalier has fallen to sleep when I am bathing her. I rub her gently with doggie shampoo.... she loves it.
My ruby Cavalier tolerates baths, once I catch her. She runs and hides when she sees the bath stuff appearing, but she doesn't squirm or fight once she is wet. After she is clean, she likes to roll in anything that stinks, so I have to really keep an eye on her.
I've probably told you this before @Carmie, but I love Cavaliers. I've had two tri-colors, two blenheims and a black and tan. I always wanted a ruby but never got one. Now I have a french bulldog. I wanted a short haired dog.

Interesting! We give our girl a bath about every 2 weeks. Great shampoo from our Vet and a few inches of water in the tub as she is low to the ground. Her short hair dries fast and she is glad when it's over because it's treat time!

When we first got our dog I was probably taking him to the groomer about every 8 weeks. Then I read where that kind of schedule isn't necessary for his breed. Now I just take him when he starts smelling like he needs it. Even though his baths are more spaced out now, I still brush him regularly and run him into the vet for nail trims as needed.

I have two German Shepherds and I bathe them every six weeks.(apprx.) I have a walk in shower that I use. I've used the tub on some of our other Shepherds but once they get older it's difficult for them and me to get them in and out of the tub. The shower works great except it's a bit snug when I have the male dog in there. I'm hoping he's done growing. Our female is more petite so she fits just fine.
I've always had GSD's and a husky and use this schedule. They get sweaty as much as dirty.
