You've had so many strong and useful responses here, especially about the financial issues you asked about in your first post.

I think you are going to be on a good path now.

 

We all know it goes against our instincts to let any of them go; they are so precious.  But doing that is just the final thing they trust us to do right.  They trust us to balance keeping them with us to letting them go with peace and dignity when it's time.
