This thread brought back memories of the "olden" days when I was a child.  We had a german shepherd back then and my mother would go to the butcher shop each week and purchase the ends of whatever meats were available.  She would take out her biggest pot, throw in the meats, add some veggies that had seen better days and cooked away.  My brother and I would always remember to not stay home when it was dog food cooking times because the whole house would stink!  Must have been good for our dog because she lived to a ripe old age.
