Aussie, my favorite dog breed.  I currently have the miniature version of your Katie, an overgrown 22lb. pup who is a devil dog and always into something.  One of my all-time favorite dogs was Joy a mini blue mere who died about 3 years ago.  Being with her was like being with another person.  She seemed to understand every word you said.

Our family had a blue merle collie when I was a teenager. His name was Bandit and was a very smart dog as well. Your picture of Joy is very pretty.
