@SXMGirl   Most people it seems can't see pictures that are copied and pasted into the post.  You have to go through the procedure by getting them from your computer.

@SXMGirl    Has Tigge settled down any?  He looks pretty relaxed in this picture and did let you get close enough for a picture.  He's an unusual color.  Very pretty.

He's such a handsome Little Fella.  Congratulations.  I hope you have many enjoyable years together.

@SXMGirl

So good to see Tiggie!

Our cats do know their names.  We Say, ‘hey, Joe,’ and Joe looks at us, and they also come to their names, (if they want to).

I like Tigge, that was your special name for him.  The next time you are in the room you could say his name to him like a call, and see if he responds.  If he does, well he knows it.

The old saying is all cats have 3 names

1- the name we call them

2- the name other cats call them

3- their secret name they never share

Best to y’all.

@Kachina624 While he and I seemed to have a connection when he was living between the tree and the water wheel, he does not really want me near him.  Tomorrow will be one week since he came here, and the space in my bedroom is much bigger than the room he was living in at the other volunteer's home.  He eats well, does not seem to be bothered by the dogs sleeping in the same room (they do not even know that he is there), but so far, he keeps his distance.  I hope things change in the next few weeks.

@SXMGirl I have a rescue who basically stayed in his carrier for a couple of weeks.  He would come out to eat and use the litter box, then right back to his carrier.  Eventually, he started spending more time outside the carrier, and now there is never an evening that he isn't beside me on the couch.  Of course, he's different because he had a home but was given up at the shelter.  But my daughter had a feral cat and they became best buds.

@SXMGirl    I have a feeling "taming" a feral cat may be one of the ultimate animal challenges.  It'll take time and lots of patience.  Good luck to you.

@Tadaki  Thanks for the encouragement.  I do believe that he hs lived in a home, and I hope that in a month or so that he will be able to leave the bedroom and venture out into the rest of the house.  Unfortunately, like many places, our state park has a number of cats living there, possibly just dumped there.
