Just a note for those Orijen buyers: Champion, Arcana and Origin's parent company, does not consider Amazon to be one of their authorized retailers.  Nor EBay.

And as @Tinkrbl44 has suggested, if purchasing from either, check the expiration dates.  When I first started feeding Orijen I bought it from Amazon and often would get bags of dog food that were almost ready to expire.

Yes, I won't buy cat food from Amazon, canned or dry. Litter is fine, pet beds, etc., but not food.

Don't understand Fromm being sold there, unless it's also unauthorized. Some authorized dealers may be bulking up their orders with Fromm to get discounts and then dumping stock out the back door.

Re: Fromm No Longer Available Through Chewy

Great referral from @lovinglife for petflow.com. Free shipping on orders $49+ and sales tax on shipments to NY, NJ, and NV for non-Rx orders. We may have the Chewy replacement!

I can understand why the smaller independent companies don't want to stay with Chewy now that PetSmart owns them.  They want to continue to be able to control the quality and the pricing of their products.  If one (or two) source(s) become the main outlet for their products, that source will then have the ability to dictate to the manufacturer what price it is willing to pay them because that source would be generating the majority of sales.  The end result would be the products would be cheapened or the manufacturer would end up out of business.  Either way, the consumer loses.

I believe the manufacturers are betting that if you are willing to pay for premium products, you'll be willing to find them somewhere else.

I order from Petflow.com.   They actually worked with me on the price.  I like them ....I believe Fromm is carried there.

My friend and I feed Orijen, which is also being discontinued at Chewy.

petflow.com also carries Orijen.

@lovinglife

Thanks.  I've just been checking online retailers today, and petflow looks like the best alternative for me.  Prices for Orijen seem to be competitive with Chewy, too.  Have you had any experience with this company?  Just wondering what it's like to deal with.

I have been ordering from Petflow for years and never had any issues.  Recently I received an autoship which I wasn't in need of.  Customer service sent Fedex to pick up the order without issue and no charge for shipping back.  Very efficient and pleasant to deal with.

Re: Fromm No Longer Available Through Chewy

Just visited two other sites where I have occasionally ordered pet food and supplies Pet360 and Petfooddirect.  Both  websites are redirecting their customers to Chewy or petsmartpharmacy.com July 26.
