Many thanks @KingstonsMom! You're correct he was not doing well and it was August. He could barely fly and was struggling to eat a huge nut. My DH grabbed him with a sheet and we gave him a pecan feast. He was so hungry. He has a huge cage now and flies with such energy. It's mesmerizing to have a bird. He's such a character and tries to outwit us every time we put him to bed in his cage at night.
