Friends, there's nothing like seeing an outpouring of good wishes and cheers to lift the spirits in the middle of a harrowing medical journey. I'm out of the hospital after a week and home with some of my intractable pain resolved, but still bedbound as specialists try to figure out the totality of exactly what's wrong.

But I know exactly what's right as I read your messages, smile at your graphics and grin at photos of your kitties like Arrow through tears of appreciation: friends like you.

Thanks so much.  I adopted Arrow and his huge 22lb brother, Cupid, as young adult cats from a shelter long ago. The shelter refused to separate them, so I took them both. They were very entertaining and worth the extra work. 

Cupid went over the rainbow bridge about 3 years ago and Arrow is now an old guy of about 16. Sleeping and cuddling are his main interests. But he is handsome, grooms himself thoroughly,  and he is a polite pleasure as a companion.  

I pray for Sammycat and Teddy Bear and all the others to help their pet parents stay strong. I know Arrow will son enough grow older and more fragile. Decisions about a cat’s best interests are terribly difficult. Prayer settles the heart and clears the mind for doing right.

Especially during the holidays, I pray you have peace & joy ...and for wisdom for the doctors to find the source of your pain.  I know it is usually 'hit & miss' for a diagnosis.  Stay strong, and keep posting your progress!
