I've never heard of bleaching a pumpkin.  I guess you do it to destroy pathogens that might otherwise cause rot.

 

They're a nice front porch decoration but I gave them up when they became nothing more than expensive squirrel food.

My problem was never bleach or animals, we had kids that would smash them.  So I stopped putting them out.

The deer eat mine whole.  I never cut them or use bleach.  

 

I once opened the front door because I heard " knocking"

 

There was a deer eating the dried corn from my wreath.  I don't know who scared who the most.

 

I can't have any pumpkin or corn decor items outside.

LOL @Carmie I can only imagine how surprised you both were.

 

I never thought about using bleach on a pumpkin.
