My family had a German Shepherd when I was a child.  This photo really hit home.  He was my best friend and miss him to this day.

True love. I grew up with a German Shepherd. She was there when I was born. They are very loyal dogs. This little boy is so blessed! Thank you for posting this picture @Foxxee!  Smiley Happy

I help with fund raising for a local rescue that specializes in German Shepherds and larger dogs.  One of the founders has a soft-spot for them.  She even works with bringing some from overseas.

 

Honestly, I cannot even look at their faces or know too much about them as I get deeply sad knowing they were unwanted. 

 

There is just no understanding human nature.  I'm happy some want to rescue them, but there are never enough people.
