@ECBG- They specifically said during the first report that they were charging her with 7 felony counts of animal cruelty (one for each puppy, I assumed) and that was before they discovered the house full of neglected animals.

Just found this when googleing animal cruelty felony: (They emphasized words, I did not).

 

Currently, 46 of the 50 states have enacted felonypenalties for certain forms of animal abuse. However, in most jurisdictions, animal cruelty is most commonly charged as a misdemeanor offense.
