Re: Does anyone play soothing music for their dog when You're not home?

@chrystaltree

Aren't we all so considerate of our furry family members Smiley Happy  Howie's cot is in the dining room.  There is a bar between the dining room and kitchen.  The two dimmable pendants above the bar are "Howie lights".  We always keep them on when we're gone.  And no, he's not spoiled Smiley Wink

Re: Does anyone play soothing music for their dog when You're not home?

I don't work so there is no routine for when I'm home or gone but yeah, we leave the heat or AC on but adjust it 2-3 degrees.  We have cameras too.  Howie's is the "Howie Cam".  At night if I need to see him, it has a light I can remotely turn on or turn into infrared mode. We have these inside and out and the two Google Nest Hub MAX devices have built in cameras too.  I don't use those a lot but one cool feature of the Hub Max is that if you're doing a video call with someone and you moving around, the camera will follow you and zoom in out.

Wyze Cam Howie Cam.  It's attached to the side of the bar and on it's side.  Attached with a strong magnet.

When we are gone but almost home, I "broadcast" to all the speakers and say "Howie, we're almost home".  He's at the backdoor waiting for us Smiley Happy  Glad to know there are other AI fans here.

Oh, if anyone has the round Google Nest Minis and would like to know how to get them off your flat surfaces and project the sound even better (projects out instead of up) here is the answer. Google Mount Genie.  I know the inventor and he gave me all of the ones I have but you can get them at Lowes and maybe Amazon.  Cut the cord!

Google wired doorbell/cam in the back and Google battery operated doorbell/cam in the front.

One of these pan cams on the front porch and one on the mantel.  It rotates (hence the "pan")

Two of these.  One in the kitchen windowsill and one in the master bedroom.  10in

Front Zoom. Nest Hub Max Smart Display with Google Assistant - Chalk.

And four 7" Google Nest Hubs.  These smaller ones don't have cameras

I always leave a radio on for my dog when I leave the house. He likes country music the best. He's a -- sing me a sad song kind of guy :-).

@monicakm , some great stories here.  We lost our Lab 18 months ago.  I go every day to let her best buddy out at lunch while the owners are at work/school.  They always leave the radio on for her.  Jersey is my Lab fix.  LM

I always left the radio on for my fur baby. He was very anxious. My veterinarian said, "Dogs don't listen to the radio." 🤷🏻‍♀️

Re: Does anyone play soothing music for their dog when You're not home?

I used to leave the TV on for my greyhound. Funny thing is that I don't watch TV much and would shut it off when I got home from work.

Current crazy Siberian has a doggie door and free run of the house and yard when we are gone. He doesn't get in the trash. Sometimes he's waiting in the yard when we return and sometimes he's napping in the house.
