My little shihtzu sleeps under my futon at night, with blankets and a pillow! The only noise I hear is the occasional puppy snore! So cute . I wake up laughing. When my girl kitties were alive they would run around the house and jump on the bed all night... And... Sleep all day!Maryanne

Last night my parakeets had night terrors at 4am. I laugh so hard for they are all in a state of panic but it wakes me up

Yes, on occasion. If our keeshond hears a loud noise(s) she will bark which gets me awake. If we are out during the evening and our cairn is crated he will sometimes be a light sleeper following our return home. On rare occasions one of the dogs will need to go out to potty during the night. Of course, when one goes the other follows.

Our yellow lab is a hoot! He snores, barks in his sleep, and also sighs in his sleep. When he starts this, my husband and I can't help but start laughing. He's noisier than a little old man....lol...

Nuff said.
Yes. Although we have one who sleeps through the whole night and doesn't like to get up in the morning! The others play, come in and out, walk around dressers, have "discussions" at 3 or 4 a.m., and love us - purring very loudly next to our ears at all hours. We're just used to it!

One night our Milliecat was determined to get INTO the bedroom. She and Rocko would often decide to play "chase" between the two windows (with rattlely blinds, no less). Unfortunately, this "racetrack" was directly over our heads...so they were banned from the bedroom at night.
Anyhoo, she stood at the shut door and screamed. This was accompanied by throwing herself against the door. (Once upon a time the door had a latch that she learned to jump up, pull down and open....she was less successful when we changed it out to a door knob, but still tried.)
Laying there, silently counting her meows. My husband whispered to me, "When is she going to shut up?" I answered "31....32...33". We both started laughing which egged her on.
She meowed at the door 143 times before giving up.
I loved those cats!

Yes, my old hounds snore and dream (paws move, tail moves, whimpering) and then sometimes demand to go out and eat grass. They let their needs be known directly in DH's ear (better him than me). It would just be too quiet without their sound around.
For those who keep birds - what is that like? I've often considered parakeets for the song and the color and the movement.

In Diary of a Sad Cat the cat says
"Dear Diary, It's 3am and the authorities have closed the door to the bedroom. I can only assume that they have forgotten about me and left me here to die. As a last resort, I have decided to stand post for the rest of the night and sing the song of my people, in hopes that they will rescue me"
If you haven't seen the link betteb posted above, please link to it now. It will have you in stitches! DS showed me this a while back, and I've shown it to a lot of others!
Thanks betteb for posting it!
