The responses are very interesting. My two rescue dogs can go out pretty much any time they want into my huge shaded, fenced backyard. Except for bad weather and conflicts on my schedule we also go for a walk every evening. We see regulars and know most of their names but nobody's dogs mingle for many reasons. There is a park specifically for those who want or need it, but we would never go there, also for many reasons. I realize we are fortunate to have a choice. I'm just glad our cats don't need any of it.

Never! We are lucky to have enough land for our pups to run on. The dog park close to us was having so many problems with pit bull bullies (and their owners) that they put a "small dog park" next to the larger one to protect the small dogs from being attacked. I saw this happen once and that was enough for me. Never again!
