Another problem that I have experienced is that the vet tech does the vet check up and confers with the vet in the backroom. Essentially you get a vet remote visit at exorbitant prices. A blood screen is $300.

@NYwoman - Wow, that never happens at my vet's surgery! The tech comes in first to update the information on the computer (any changes, concerns, etc.), but the vet always does the exam and we're never rushed. The vet tech would assist, if the vet needed a second person, but that's it.
There are several vets at the surgery we use, but they all do the exams, vaccinations, etc., answer any questions.
