Lisa used to tell a funny story of growing up with horses. Her dad would never let her use a saddle on her horse and she'd be out riding and the horse would get bored, break into a gallop, then hit the brakes and crouch down and she'd slide right off the horse over his head and onto the ground and the horse would then turn around and trot back to the barn leaving her to walk back. He knew his way home and when he'd had enough of being ridden, he'd just slide her off and head back to the barn.
