I had two cats for years, and after awhile I just stopped closing the door. They would run their paws under the door and meow, and I assumed that they thought that I had an escape hatch in the bathroom.

@Foxxee I thought that owning a dog was extreme at times but obviously CATS are even more clingy.  My dog follows me to the bathroom but lays in the hall, this would not work for me.  HA

@Boomernichols Not all cats.  I have never had a Siamese cat that was--one was close but still independent.

The most independent one would sit on you and you could pet him a little before he "bit" you by putting his teeth on you but not biting down hard.  If you kept petting him, you only made that mistake once.

With the near clingy one, it was impossible to type with him in the room or to pack a suitcase, which you had to do around him.
