My friend with a cat was telling me this story this morning. There is a chipmunk that comes to the glass slider and waits for the cat to come outside. If it doesn't, after awhile the chipmunk will rap against the glass. During their playtime outside the chipmunk will lay down and play dead. The cat will lay down next to it and put his paw on the chipmunk, who will flutter his eyelids like he is waking up. And off they run, the cat even puts the chipmunk in its mouth but never hurts it. I am just amazed, are these two special or do your cats do the same thing?

What a lovely sweet story! I have seen many videos of different animals interacting, having fun together and bonding. Often other animals take baby animals not their own and nurse them. There are many stories of animals you wouldn't think would ever get along but do!
This story of the chipmunk and cat is a first for me. How cute is it that the cat and chipmunk play and get along like friends! It is so amazing and a story that says much, thanks for sharing!!!!

After watching about a million animal videos on Facebook, I'm convinced there are no two species that can't get along. There are some really strange combos that are best friends.
People who are afraid of Facebook don't know what they're missing.

That's unusual. Cats will chase chipmunks for their lunch. They are like mice.

@depglass Love that story!
My cat can hang out near/with chipmunks and squirrels in the backyard - i.e. no one is scared of her! which is fine because she is not aggressive in the least, but your story takes that to a new level. I love they have that kind of bond.

How wonderful must that be to see!

That is an AMAZING story!!!
I would love to see that for sure!
I haven't had outdoor cats in years - since I lived in the country. My cats are all indoor now.
Sadly, at that time little chippy probably would have been cat chow - much to my horror!!!
